Reno Rodeo

The Reno Rodeo is The Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West, featuring world-champion
cowboys and cowgirls competing for more than $1 million in cash and prizes. Nine
daily performances include saddle bronc riding, team roping, bull riding, steer
wrestling, chuck wagon races and more.
Artown

Whether you love music, dance, visual arts, opera, film, theater, humanities,
ethnic celebrations, or historic tours, Artown has it. Last year more than 137,000
people of all ages enjoyed 1000 visual and performing artist present more than
200 events throughout July.
Star Spangled Sparks
July 4
John Ascuaga's Nugget - Victorian Square
Spend the 227th birthday of the United States with family and friends at the annual
Star Spangled Sparks. Lots of family fun from 7:30 am to 5 pm at the Sparks Marina
Park and then the show moves to Victorian Square starting at 7 pm with fireworks
starting at 9:30 pm.
ESPN Great Outdoor Games
July 10 -14
Various Locations
The world's top outdoor athletes will gather at the ESPN Great Outdoor Games in
Reno-Tahoe to compete in the world championship of outdoor sports. The event features
one-of-a-kind, head-to-head competition in timber and target events, sporting
dogs, and fishing. While the free event entertains large crowds on site, the ESPN
Great Outdoor Games also draws a worldwide television audience.
John Ascuaga's Nugget Amateur Challenge

John Ascuaga's Nugget
Be a player, come and play in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area's only Amateur Open. The
Fourth annual event will be played July 13 - July 17th, 2003, in beautiful Reno,
Nevada. The event is hosted by John Ascuaga's Nugget Hotel Casino Resort and run
by Golf Digest Sports Marketing.
36th Annual Reno Basque Festival
July 19 -20
Wingfield Park
This annual event is centered around traditional Basque games, dancing, and foods.
Sporting competitions include soka tira (a form of tug-of-war), wood chopping
and weight lifting.
